Majlis Anugerah Motivasi 2010

This year's MAM was held on the 13th of November 2010 at Dewan Perbadanan Labuan, Kampung Sungai Bangat. The Principal's Special Awards were given to Mdm. Nazirah Osman (teacher category) and Ms. Namsi (staff category). Innovative Teacher Award was presented to Mr. Hyginus, Creative Teacher (Mdm. Shamsiah Ambo), Dedicated Teacher (Mdm. Hasimah Kahar) and Dedicated Staff (Mdm. Nurullizah).

Read 2010 One Nation

Read 2010 One Nation Programme by Scholastic was held at Dewan Semarak, SMK Mutiara on the 8th of October 2010. Each and every student and teacher had to read.

Program Akses PMR 2010

The English Language Panel of SMK Mutiara was involved in the Akses PMR programme. Teachers in-charge were Ms Yeo, Mdm Nazirah and Mr. Hyginus. Among the activities conducted were Amazing Race, Telephone Message and Video Viewing.

Grammar for PMR 2010 candidates

The English Language Panel and the Malay Language Panel collaborated and organised a grammar workshop for PMR 2010 candidates. For English, Mr Hyginus and Mr Cheah conducted the workshop at the school hall and language lab respectively.

Stepping Stone Programme

A workshop on good summary writing for Form 3 students under the Stepping Stone Programme was conducted today, 17 September 2010 at the language lab by Excellent Teacher, Mr. Cheah Teong Aik.

Mesyuarat Pasca Nilai

Mesyuarat Pasca Nilai Festival Bahasa (Bahasa Inggeris) W. P. Labuan 2010 Sekolah-sekolah rendah dan menengah was held at SMK Mutiara meeting room. It was chaired by Cik Nor Ain, the Assistant Director (Co-Academic) of JPWPL. The meeting started at 2.30pm and ended at 4.15pm. SMK Mutiara was represented by the Head of the English Language Panel.

English Camp 2010

The English Language Panel organised its annual English Camp on the 31st of July 2010 at Dewan Semarak SMK Mutiara. The closing ceremony was graced by the Chairman of Parents Teacher Association (PIBG) Mr. Awang @ Awg Ibrahim Talip.

Spelling Competition 2010

The English Language Panel of SMK Mutiara organised a spelling competition on the 13th of May 2010 for Form 1-5 students in conjunction with Minggu Pusat Sumber SMK Mutiara. Students were tested on the first and second thousand words of English. The event was conducted by the Head of the English Panel, Mr. Hyginus and the Excellent Teacher, Mr. Cheah.

The winners of the competition were Victor Robin Biring (4 CST), Nur Aqilah (3 HBS) and Nur Fitri (4 CST).

Seminar Teknik Menjawab Soalan dan Motivasi PMR/SPM 2010

Form 3 and Form 5 students of SMK Mutiara attended the "Seminar Teknik Menjawab Soalan dan Motivasi PMR/SPM 2010" organised by and in collaboration with Unit Bimbingan dan Kaunseling and the English Language Panel. The guest speakers for SPM English 1119 were Mr. Subermaniyam of SM Teknik and Mdm. Nor Adliana (SMK Mutiara) while for PMR were Mr. Hyginus and Ms. Yeo Su Mui (SMK Mutiara).
